Koh Rok is part of the Mu Koh Lanta Marine National Park The name refers to a pair of twin islands located in Krabi province.
A popular destination for snorkelling and scuba diving, Koh Rok Nai and Koh Rok Nok are just a few hundred meters from each other.
Koh Rok Nok offers visitors the chance to laze about on beautiful beaches. There are two stunning viewpoints on the island. Pha Samed Daeng offers sweeping vistas all the way to Koh Lanta on a clear day, while Thong Cape viewpoint is the place to be to watch the sunset. There are public tourist facilities including a camping area and toilets. A shady dining area is also available to use, so best to bring your drinks and snacks from your yacht charter if you intend to picnic on the island.
If you are up for a tropical adventure, it is possible to camp on Koh Rok Nok. Tents are available to rent, as are a few bungalows. Koh Rok Nai is surrounded by excellent dive sites. Inland, during the rainy season, it is also possible to explore the Koh Rok Waterfall. This little island is special to local fishermen. In an area of the island called Sarn Chao Bay, a spirit house was built a long time ago. Before heading off on long fishing excursions, fishermen head to the shrine to pray and make a small offerings.
Koh Rok is open from October to May, and the best time to visit is from February to April when the sea is clear and calm. The twin islands are located approximately 30 kilometres south of Koh Lanta, but they are actually in Trang province.
